I’d like to cite this quote from Kurt Vonnegut’s commencement speech at MIT in ’97:

“Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, and don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.”

I’d highly recommend listening to the entire speech, it’s very inspiring and will most likely change the way that you look at things.
